Broyhill Leadership Conference

The Broyhill Leadership Conference, held on the campus of Queens University of Charlotte is open to current 9th-11th graders interested in personal development and leadership training. Climate Leaders Fellowship

This is a fantastic, free opportunity for students to make a real difference in their communities and reduce the impact of climate change. This program will help your students make a positive impact on the community and environment, but it will also give them an edge when applying for colleges, employers, and scholarships. Plus, the work they do for the Fellowship counts as community service hours towards the Presidential Volunteer Service Award!

Leadership Institute for Future Teachers (LIFT)

The NC State College of Education’s Leadership Institute for Future Teachers (LIFT) is a six-day, invitational program for students of color, bilingual students, and all students interested in teaching who are rising high school seniors in North Carolina. Students will delve into the field of education through engaging in field-based school activities, interacting with leaders in education, and exploring career options in education and related fields. 


This year’s LIFT will be held from Sunday, June 23 through Friday, June 28, 2024 at NC State University. The cost of participation is free for students, except for transportation to and from NC State. Complete the nomination form by February 23rd.  


Lens High School Programs at Wake Forest University

LENS@Wake Forest is a three week summer program that equips current high school students with an academic foundation necessary to become global citizens and provides an interdisciplinary and experiential learning environment characteristic of the liberal arts education...without the pressure of grades/credit.

Satellite Camp at NC State University-Sophomores only!

SATELLITE is a five-day STEM outreach and leadership development program. SATELLITE Campers have had the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of activities including a field trip to the Museum of Natural Sciences, an egg drop competition, plant biology seminars, workshops in paper science engineering, textiles and design, game theory, and hands-on life sciences demonstrations led by genuine NC State faculty and students. 


The 2024 program will run from May 18th - 22nd. Our application encourages two letters of recommendation ( not required ) and a few short essays pertaining to the student’s interest in the field of STEM and college exposure. Due to the nature of the program, we do not consider a student’s academic success when reviewing applications, we are looking only for a student’s desire to maximize their experience at SATELLITE and hone their curiosity. The Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD)

Shelton Leadership Challenge @ NC Wesleyan University 

The Shelton Challenge is a six-day (July 14-19, 2024) residential leadership experience to help students expand their knowledge and skills of what it takes to be an effective leader. Offered to rising 9th-grade to graduated seniors with a 3.0+ unweighted GPA, hands-on activities focus on: personal leadership assessment and interpersonal dynamics, the role of values and ethics in leadership, leadership traits and approaches, empowering others, civic and social responsibility and goal setting. In addition to these aptitudes, students also engage in team-building activities like low- and high-ropes courses, rock climbing walls, service projects, and social activities in the evenings. 

The cost to attend the Shelton Challenge six-day residential program is $500. This cost includes all curriculum materials, lodging and food, low and high ropes training, transportation during the week, and night activities. Summer Ventures Program

The Summer Ventures in Science and Mathematics Program is for rising high school juniors and seniors. Summer Ventures is a cost-free, statewide science and math enrichment program for students with proven academic ability, motivation in the STEM fields of study, and emotional maturity.  Summer Ventures takes students beyond the traditional boundaries of high school science and mathematics while exploring topics of interest to them and learning experimental design, laboratory skills, instrumentation, mathematical modeling, strategies in mathematical problem solving and more.  At the end of the four-week residential program, students present a comprehensive research project on a current topic in a STEM field of study. UNCG CHANCE College Readiness Program

Join us for a transformative experience at UNCG CHANCE—a unique opportunity designed exclusively for Latino/Hispanic rising senior high school students. Our intensive four-day program focuses on college readiness and personal growth, providing participants with invaluable insights and connections to thrive academically and professionally.

United States Naval Academy Summer Programs

The United States Naval Academy (Annapolis, MD) hosts two summer programs aimed at high performing math and science students.  Current 8th through 10th grade students are eligible to apply to the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) program http://www.usna.edu/Admissions/STEM . West Point Summer Leaders Experience
