Goodnight Scholarship

With more than 34,000 students and nearly 8,000 faculty and staff, North Carolina State University is a landmark university known for its innovation in education and research, and globally recognized for its leadership in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

One of NC State’s premier scholarship programs, the Goodnight Scholars Program was founded in 2008 by NC State alumni, Dr. Jim and Mrs. Ann Goodnight. This Program and scholarship is awarded annually to incoming first-year and transfer students who, through participating in a comprehensive selection process, displayed the capacity for academic achievement, commitment to service and leadership, and affinity to influence society through the STEM and education disciplines. The Goodnight Scholarship is valued at $20,500 per year for a total of four years.

On behalf of NC State and the Goodnight Scholars Program, I am proud to recognize the newest student who will continue our university’s commitment to excellence, innovation and service: Gregory Capps.

Gregory, an aspiring aerospace engineering major at NC State, has been selected as a member of the Goodnight Scholars Program’s Class of 2024 and recipient of the Goodnight Scholarship.

While in high school, Gregory was involved with math club, creative writing club and VEX robotics club.

As a Goodnight Scholar, Gregory will also have the opportunity to participate in a variety of leadership, service, and professional development activities to help him develop into a leader within the STEM and education industries.

Please join me in congratulating Gregory Capps for this outstanding achievement and welcoming him to the Goodnight Scholars Program and Wolfpack families!
