History

From Mrs. Yurkovich:

"There are STEM students who also love history, and that is always so exciting for those of us who (because we love it) teach American or World history or Civics. In fact, certain traits of the STEM student--including the questioning mind, and the reluctance to take matters at face value--can make NDA students particularly good history students. This student stands out, though, for his curiosity, his ability to ask insightful questions, and his ability to synthesize his knowledge of the past into defensible arguments that he supports with ease. He also has a favorite kind of history to learn (Russian, I believe) and that is a sign that he loves our subject, too. For asking great questions, for challenging himself with AP, and for doing excellent work in history, this year's History Award goes to Vincent Petrucelli."
