Graduation Requirements in NC:

Future Ready Course of Study:

28 Credits Required:

• 4 sequential English (English I, English II, English III, English IV)

• 4 Math (Math I, Math 2, Math 3, Math 4 or a course that will meet the graduation requirements for NC Public Schools)

• 3 Science (Earth/Environmental, Biology, and Physical Science/Chemistry/Physics)

• 4 Social Studies (World History, Civic Literacy, American History, Econ/Personal Finance)

• 1 Health/PE

• Concentration Recommended:   2 Electives (from the same CTE pathway)  or 4 Electives from (ROTC, Arts, PE, World Language, or any cross-disciplinary courses)

• 9th graders who entered August 2025 or later: a fine art credit from 8th - 12th grade is also required. 

(plus CPR Certification)

• Students entering 9th grade school in August 2026 or later must complete one course in computer science.

Erwin High School also awards "Graduating  with Honors":

Honors - GPA 3.5-3.99

High Honors - GPA 4.0-4.24

Highest Honors - 4.25 or higher

CTE Honors - GPA 3.5 or higher, completion of a CTE Pathway plus one additional CTE course, and no OSS in their senior year
