Attendance
BCS & CHS Attendance Policy:
All hours above the 7 Unexcused or Excused Days allowed under BCS Board Policy must be cleared (cleared with an appeal form or made up) before the end of the grading period in order to receive credit for the course, if passing. OSS is not excused and days must me made up.
If the student is below the age 16, Truancy may be filed against the student and/or the parent.
The student must clear hours in order to participate in school activities such as prom.
CHS Attendance Appeals/Waivers
Students may appeal their absences to the Attendance Committee to reduce the number of hours that must be made-up by completing the Attendance Appeal Process.
You must first request an Appeal Form from your counselor, determine if you qualify, and then submit the completed form to your counselor.
Documentation will be required to support an appeal, but your counselor will assist you in this process.
Your Attendance Appeal will then be presented by your counselor to the Attendance Committee, who determine what days will be waived.
***Speak to your counselor to request an Appeal Form and determine if you qualify!!!!***
CHS Orange Folder: Attendance Make-Up
Students need to request an ORANGE FOLDER to make-up attendance.
If you have completed the attendance appeal process and still have days to make-up OR if you do not qualify for an attendance appeal and need to make-up days you need to request an ORANGE FOLDER.
Students are responsible for asking their counselor for an ORANGE FOLDER and keeping up with the ORANGE FOLDER while making up attendance and turning it in to their counselor once their attendance has been made up.
Hours may be made-up in the following ways:
Supervising Teacher or Staff Member will sign your ORANGE FOLDER to confirm attendance.
