My name is Jessica LaPadula and this will be my fifth year working at PRES. My mom has been a first grade teacher since I was a child and always grew up wanting to be a teacher as well! I was an intern at PRES while earning my Master’s Degree at Pace University in Early Childhood, Childhood, and Special Education. I also have my Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Psychology from Quinnipiac University. During my time at PRES, I have had the opportunity to work in many different grade levels. I am thrilled to now be working in Kindergarten. I know how important this year is for the children and I am so excited to learn and grow with each of them! PRES is a warm, inviting and enriching place to work and I hope to make my classroom feel the same!
My name is Lena Nurenberg and I have had an unique experience as having been a student, a parent and now a Teacher at Pound Ridge Elementary School. I graduated from Bank Street College of Education with my Masters in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. Last year, I was the Aide in Kindergarten and prior to that I taught next door at the Pound Ridge Community Play School for many years. Before that I taught Pre-K in the city at The Town School, where I met my husband, Jeff, but I am most excited to be back here at PRES! A long time ago, I was also a student here at PRES and eight years ago moved back here with my family. I have two daughters, one of whom went to PRES and is an eighth grader at Fox Lane Middle School now (Madison) and another who will be starting fifth grade at PRES this year (Sophia). Kindergarten is a magical year where we are lucky to witness the tremendous growth of our students. I hope that my classroom can be a comfortable space for KN to develop a love for learning and exploration as well as a happy, collaborative community to be a part of every day.
