Contest Play

Competitive Theatre

Contest Play is an event in which teams create a complete theatrical production including sets, costumes, lights, and sound.  These 40 minute productions are then adjudicated against other school's productions and ranked to find a winner.  There is one sectional competition a year.  The top two productions then advance to the state competition the following week.  Students learn to work as a team to build and tear down the sets under a time limit as well as honing their acting and theater tech skills.   

The 2026 Contest Play will be announced in late Fall/early Winter.
