The GHS Auditorium Staff is the stage crew and technical staff for the GHS Auditorium. This student organization supports all events held in the space small and large. Opportunities exist for students to become certified technicians for sound, lighting, live streaming and rigging, along with general event staff (ushers, backstage hands, etc.). Students that participate in the GHS Auditorium Staff receive valuable work experience along with service hours for a variety of different organizations, such as National Honor Society and Key Club.

This role is open to any member of the GHS Auditorium Staff. No prior training is required!
Students that become certified as sound technicians will learn how to operate the mixing console, set up microphones for individuals and groups and gain basic mixing abilities along with other advanced skills as needed. Students interested in becoming a sound technician should complete the Yamaha DM7 self-training found here, then contact Mr. Brockamp (nbrockamp@bcsd5.org) to set up an operator test upon certification. Additional training for setup and teardown of sound equipment will be discussed at your operator test.
Students that become certified as light technicians will learn how to operate the lighting console and architectural lighting controls, set up lighting fixtures for a variety of events and gain basic light design abilities along with other advanced skills as needed. Students interested in becoming a light technician should complete the ETC Eos Family Learning Series Level 1 curriculum found here, then contact Mr. Brockamp (nbrockamp@bcsd5.org) to set up an operator test upon completion. Additional training for setup and teardown of lighting equipment will be discussed at your operator test.
Students that become certified as live stream technicians will learn how to operate live streaming software and hardware, create basic overlays, set up cameras for events, and gain basic camera operation abilities along with other advanced skills as needed. Students interested in becoming a live stream technician should contact Mr. Brockamp (nbrockamp@bcsd5.org) regarding certification.
Students that become certified as rigging technicians will learn how to safely operate the auditorium fly system. At this time, we are not accepting new rigging technicians until the completion of our rigging upgrade in the auditorium.
