Aeries Gradebook Setup

Good news! Your classes from last Fall are still available AND condensed so that you don't have too many classes on the page at once.

1. Open the Gradebook.
2. Click on Past terms.
3. The classes from Fall will appear.
4. Click on Past terms again to hide them.

What is the quickest way to add all 6 classes at once? Mass add (this is faster than Illuminate)!

1. In the Gradebook Dashboard, select Mass Add Gradebooks.
2. Select all six periods.
3. Click Next.
4. Select the term.
5. Click Create Gradebooks.

Junior high school teachers instruct the same class multiple times throughout the day. By Linking Gradebooks, the teacher needs to add the assignment to one class only. Aeries will copy the assignments to the other classes with no additional work.

1. From the Gradebook Dashboard, select Link Gradebooks.
2. Give similar classes the same number.
   • Do not use 0 to group a set of classes.
   • I used 3 for Spring English and 4 for Spring History.
3. Click Save at the bottom of the page.

When a class (or linked group) is first created, the teacher needs to Manage Gradebook.

1. From the Gradebook Dashboard, make sure that you are in Table view.
2. Select Manage Gradebook.
3. Review the following tabs:
   • Edit Gradebook - nothing needs to be changed
   • Options - you may want to select Add/Drop Students Automatically when loading Scores By Class page. I am still experimenting with that option.
   • Categories - You must have at least ONE category.
   • Manage Students - I will discuss this set in the next video tutorial.
   • Assignments - can be added here or in the Gradebook Dashboard, Scores by Class, or Assignments.

Even if you have multiple classes, you only need to add students ONE time.

1. In Manage Gradebook, select the Manage Students tab.
2. Click Add students.
3. Select All all students.
4. Click Close.
