Apply to Be A Substitute Teacher

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Grade K-12 Substitute teacher in Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation. 

Currently, the minimum requirement is a high school diploma, a teaching license and/or a substitute teacher permit. Previous classroom experience is helpful, but not required. 

Pay Rates

$100.00/Day ~ Non-licensed-high school graduate
$125.00/day ~  Applicants with a Bachelor's degree, Licensed teacher with any valid state teaching license or retired teachers from any school district

To become a qualified substitute teacher:
1. Apply for the position online

2. After reviewing the application, the substitute coordinator will review it. If the applicant meets the initial criteria, they will  receive  an email with the required forms to complete including information about completing a background check and applying for a substitute permit if the applicant does not hold a valid teacher license. 

3. Upon completion of the background check and all forms, the applicant is added to the school district 's substitute teacher management system, Frontline Education. This system allows substitutes to view and accept available assignments, manage schedules and access important information about schools and classrooms. 

4. After being added to the Frontline system, substitutes are officially ready to begin accepting assignments and substitute teaching in BCSC schools.
