Substitute teachers are paid to assume the work schedule of a regular teacher. Therefore, a substitute’s workday hours are the same as the regular teacher’s workday. Typically, a half day assignment begins in the morning and ends no later than 11:30 or starts at 11:30 and ends when the school day is complete.
Please note: There are a few occurrences (such as McDowell, East or North) when the job is only for 3.5 hours, starting at an odd time. These jobs are only ½ day – no matter what time they end.
