Practical Information

From Granada–Jaén Airport (Federico García Lorca):

Taxi: Approx. 25–30 minutes (around €30–35).
Bus: Take the airport bus to the city center (€3.00, about 40 minutes), get off at Palacio de Congresos, then take city bus line 13 or 33 towards Ctra. de la Sierra – Hospital and get off at Hospital/Virgen de las Nieves stop (close to the hotel).
Car: Follow signs for Granada Sur / Ronda Sur / Alhambra. Take exit 132 (Ronda Sur – Alhambra), then follow Av. de la Sierra Nevada to Calle Mirador del Genil.

From Granada Train Station (Estación de Tren – Avenida de Andaluces):

Taxi: About 15 minutes (€10–12).
Bus: Take line 33 (direction Cenes de la Vega) and get off at Ctra. de la Sierra – Hospital (near the hotel).

From Granada Bus Station (Estación de Autobuses):

Taxi: About 20 minutes (€12–15).
Bus: Take line 33 (direction Cenes de la Vega) directly to Ctra. de la Sierra – Hospital stop.

From the City Center:

Taxi: About 10–15 minutes, depending on traffic.
Bus: Lines 13 and 33 run frequently between the city center and the hotel area (Ctra. de la Sierra – Hospital stop).

Uber: Also available in Granada. Prices are usually similar to or slightly lower than taxis, and rides are comfortable and reliable.

Walking: About 40–45 minutes to the Cathedral and city center.
Taxi/Uber: Comfortable and reasonably priced. Call 958 28 00 00, take one at a taxi stand, or ask reception to order one. Pay in cash or by card.
Bus: Every 15 minutes, from 6:30 am to 11:30 pm. Comfortable, clean, safe, and inexpensive. Pay in cash or with a Credibús (red) card (available at tobacco shops, kiosks, and on buses).

Nearest stop: Ctra. de la Sierra – Hospital (lines 13 & 33 to the city center).

Other travel cards:

Transport Card (green) – valid on city and intercity buses, and metro (available at kiosks and tobacco shops).

Metropolitan Card (white) – valid on the city’s metro, available at metro stations.

Advance booking required: Tickets should be purchased at least 40 days in advance, as availability is limited and they often sell out early.

ID required: Passport or national ID card must be presented to enter.

From Hotel Maciá Real de la Alhambra: Take bus line 13, get off at “Cementerio,” and walk about 850 m.

From the city center: Take bus line C30 or walk up a steep but scenic hill.

Near the hotel (limited options):

City center:

Wide variety of bars and restaurants offering local cuisine, including the famous tapas (small dishes served free with drinks).

Recommended restaurants:

Meal times: Lunch usually from 14:00 to 15:00, and dinner from 20:00 to 22:00, although some central establishments may serve earlier.

Emergency numbers: Police 092, Fire 080, Ambulance 112.
ATMs and banks: Most accept international cards.
Weather: Check the forecast; comfortable shoes recommended for walking.
Mobility: Some streets and Alhambra areas are steep; accessibility may be limited.
Tips: Not mandatory, but it is customary to leave 5–10% in restaurants and cafés if the service was good.
