Webinar: INCLUSIVE LEARNING COMMUNITIES

Cohort VII LLA alum Julia Bott, former principal, and current Executive Director of Inclusive Education for Boston Public Schools, will focus on schools that are considering supporting their community to make a transition to a more inclusive learning community, specifically for students with disabilities. We will explore a research-based, collaborative process to guide and inform this process and support a comprehensive assessment of the foundation systems, structures and practices necessary to build a strong inclusive school community.

Webinar: Reflections from the balcony: engagement practices and the impact on learning 

Cohort X LLA alum and current Principal, Michelle Simon, reflects on her first year as a leader, engaging in a deep examination of family engagement practices and their correlation to student outcomes. Michelle also shares how her community leveraged the opportunity (post-school-related pandemic restrictions) to shift and build stronger practices.

Alumni Spotlight: Engaging Families as Partners through an anti-racist lens

Cohort VIII LLA alum Ashley Davis shares the practices she and the teachers at her school used that resulted in the highest average attendance the school has ever had, even as they launched school remotely. Principal Davis will share how they partnered with families and centered the voices of Latinx families in their community to drive the engagement approach and strategy that led to 94.5% average attendance and no gaps in attendance rates between subgroups.
