A Typical Day

Table or Floor Activities

The day begins with free play at the tables or on the floor where children enhance their imagination, problem-solving skills, and social interactions in age appropriate ways. All toys and activities provide the opportunity for fine and gross motor development. Children engage with teachers one-on-one and explore creatively through the use of process art.

Music & Movement

Music, movement, and diaper changes happen during this time. Children may sing, dance, and play instruments.

Story Time

Teachers read stories and use a variety of visual aids to provide children with concept of word and increase vocabulary development. Teachers may also recite nursery rhymes with hand motions to increase oral language development and listening skills.

Lunch

Children eat together with lunch provided from home.

Circle Time

During circle time, children learn how to interact in a group setting. Color, shape, and letter concepts are introduced. Math concepts are reinforced through calendar time.

Centers

Center time with home living, blocks, manipulative exploration, and more. Toys are rotated on a regular basis.

Recess

Gross motor time in the gym or on the outdoor playground. During this time, children enjoy playing and interacting with one another and teachers.

Dismissal

Parents pick up from the Welcome Center.

Other group activities include:
