Technology and Innovation at BBS

• Multiple Innovation Spaces—From Kindergarten to Grade 12, students at Bahrain Bayan School develop creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, providing them a competitive edge by introducing three specialized Innovation Hubs. As a proud national institution, we’re committed to advancing education and positioning Bahrain as a regional leader in innovation. This initiative enriches our students' learning experiences and sets a new benchmark for academic excellence nationwide.

• BBS Parents App: This is a one-stop hub that offers a range of features, including the ability to add funds to the cafeteria, track attendance, record meal transactions, track medical visits, and access an events calendar. You can also conveniently pay fees or invoices.

• Digital Parents Connect campaigns: Our Digital Parent Connect initiative was designed to achieve three key goals below to empower our community and lead the way in this digital age!: 

  • Awareness: Increase parents’ understanding of the BBS Parents app and available digital tools.

  •  Engagement: Encourage parents to explore and maximize our digital resources.

  • Support: Provide assistance and guidance to help parents navigate our tech apps and tools effectively.

• Digitizing school processes: By moving to digital systems, schools can reduce manual tasks, ensure better data accuracy, and enable quick access to information, making it easier to support individualized learning, track progress, and engage with students and parents. We have digitized the following: Student and staff end-of-year checkout, Online Calendars, PTCs online Booking, Student Attendance(Smart ID), Primary Cafeteria online orders, Student Verification Form, online registration Field trips, and afterschool activities signup, payment and acknowledgment through the BBS Parent's app (Launch December 2024)

• Innovative equipment: 

  • Zspace: As we continue to expand our resources and strengthen our partnership with parents, we are proud to be the first school to introduce Zspace technology. Cutting-edge innovation that combines augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) to create mind-blowing, lifelike experiences that ignite curiosity and deepen understanding. And the best part? No head-mounted displays or glasses are required! zSpace

  • Imagi Charms: The ImagiCharm is a programmable device that brings creative projects and designs coded in Python to life. 

• Students Smart-ID: Student ID cards have a lot to offer; they are used to track attendance, allowing the teachers to be sure that students are where they are supposed to be during the day. In addition, ID cards can be prepaid, and children can use them as a form of contactless payment at the school Cafeteria. It can also be used in the Uniform Shop to make purchases as well.

• Digitizing Procurement and a Central Warehouse: Our tech team developed the initiative to digitize procurement at BBS in-house to bring efficiency, accuracy, transparency, and cost savings across all related processes. This data-driven system enables informed decision-making, optimizes costs, streamlines workflows, reduces errors, and enhances transparency and accountability.

• Project management System: to streamline communication and enhance school-wide events and operations planning. Centralizing project-related information allows real-time updates and easy access to documents, schedules, and task assignments, enabling effective collaboration among teachers, administrators, and staff. 

• Face recognition &CCTV: Bayan School has CCTV with Face Recognition and Automatic Number Plate Recognition for real-time monitoring, enhancing campus safety and security, including coverage of the Amanat service area.

• Dashboard- Available Digital Resources ( apps Launchpad): We share a comprehensive list of available digital resources with our teachers, students, and parents to support their learning. The list is divided per division per subject. While using Single Sign On (SSO) for easy access.

• Tailored Tech Professional Development: We offer tailored, bilingual (Arabic and English) teacher training, seamless tech integration, and a digital resource platform supporting division and department needs. We are in the process of becoming the first National Google School, leveraging Google tools to enhance student learning and curriculum innovation.

  • Our new hires can access an asynchronous training site upon joining the Orientation site.

• Robotics and student engagement: 

  • We are proud to share that our Middle robotics teams won First Place in the World Robotics Olympiad - Qualification, and both our Middle and High Schools represented Bahrain on the global stage in the World Robotics Olympiad -Final  in Turkey at the end of November 2024

  • A High School team of students won the Innov8 Hackathon 2023, Bahrain’s largest cloud innovation event sponsored by T.amkeen and AWS. At the event, they tackled real-world challenges alongside industry experts. 

Revamped Technology Curriculum—Our technology curriculum is geared toward the student's prospects as it encourages them to think critically, be flexible, and be creative in their approach. Constantly ahead of the trends, this policy stays true to our core principles, orienting students to a prospective career with regard to technological changes.
