Running Start

Running Start is a dual credit program offered in association with Clark College where students are able to earn tuition-free* college credit while completing their high school graduation requirements. Students who attend Running Start fulltime may be able to graduate with both their high school diploma and Associates degree. Credits earned at Clark College may be eligible for transfer to a 4 year university, students interested in this should discuss options with their high school and Clark counselors. 

Students can apply for Running Start during their Sophomore year (to participate during Junior year) and Junior year (to participate during Senior year). To be eligible to participate in Running Start students must meet specific requirements

Students have the option to choose from 7 pathways at Clark College including:

Advanced Manufacturing & Mechanical

Business & Entrepreneurship

Creative & Communication Arts

Health Care and Biosciences

Public Service, Society, and Education

Science, Technology, and Engineering

Pre-College (Transitional Studies)

Students will need to forecast for Running Start using the course code XRN001. Students who do not plan on attending Running Start fulltime will need to forecast for those classes through Skyward. Running Start students are required to fill out a Running Start agreement outlining the requirements of the program, they must also submit an Enrollement Verification Form (EVF) to their high school counseling office each quarter. Students who fail to submit the EVF form prior to the deadline will be withdrawn from school. 

*Students are able to earn tuition-free credit during Fall, Winter, and Spring quarters only and if they submit their Enrollment Verification Form (EVF) to their high school counseling office. Students who decide to attend classes during the summer will have to pay out of pocket for tuition costs.
