1. Brief description and aims of module:
This workshop led, stand-alone module will introduce you to the basic, practical pattern cutting skills required to design, construct and produce textile products and outcomes.
Your chosen discipline/s will influence your technical engagement and your commercial outcomes.
You will be made aware of pricing, display, packaging and promotion. It is the intention of the module to enable you to produce items that are professionally made and commercially viable and appropriate for an identified market. Typically, the products are sold via a student led initiate at Bath Christmas Market in the next academic year www.bathchristmasmarket.co.uk
2.Outline syllabus:
Hand to eye coordination, pattern cutting and product development are the key elements that underpin this module.
Basic, practical items may typically include: Wash bags, Tote bags, aprons etc. and will be produced from your own unique fabrics and /or from recycled materials.
