1. Brief description and aims of module:
For students looking to develop the skills learned in 3D Game Art, 3D Game Art II is a more advanced module aimed at building your knowledge and practical ability in 3D technical art. In this module, you apply the concepts first introduced in 3D Game Art to a new and independently defined creative brief, gaining a more in-depth knowledge of the practice of the 3D technical artist.
Real-time rendered graphics require awareness of efficiency throughout the design process. In this module, you will learn advanced 3D modelling techniques focused on creating viable and original art assets for video games. With guidance from module tutors you design your own creative brief, following an idea from the concept sketching stage through to a set of polished game-ready assets.
You will learn advanced 3D environmental art skills including lighting, post-processing and VFX to enhance your creations, together with an additional understanding of rigging and animation that will bring your game assets to life.
