1. Brief description and aims of module:
This module builds on the concepts and practices introduced in Making Performance 1 and gives you the opportunity to work collaboratively on a practical performance project in response to a brief.
This module aims to:
Develop your practical understanding of a selected approach or approaches to realising a play, including technical and production aspects as well as creative content.
Consolidate your understanding of approaches to research informed practical work
Prepare you for third year student led practical projects.
2. Outline syllabus:
This module provides you with an opportunity to build on the knowledge gained in Making Performance 1 by working collaboratively on a piece of theatre for performance. The module allows students to engage in a performance making process guided by their tutors utilising relevant theories and techniques.
3. Teaching and learning activities:
Learning on this module is through workshop/lectures, rehearsal, production meetings, collaborative group work and self-directed study. The module develops students’ understanding of production roles in a studio theatre context and provides the opportunity to consolidate the learning on Making Performance 1. Students will be expected to work professionally and collaboratively both inside and outside of class time.

Self-directed study - research/ devising/ rehearsal/ documentation
Peer led study - students will share work in progress with their peers as well as elements of their process. This is designed on the same lines a professional work in progress events to offer a professional experience and allow formative feedback.
