1. Brief description and aims of module:
Operations and Project Management are concerned with the delivery of an organisation’s promise or value proposition. This involves managing the resources of the organization and its network to deliver value to the customer and the organization itself. This field of study is applicable from small businesses and professionals to financial service companies, health care and manufacturing.
This module looks at how firms achieve competitive success through improving the processes involved in delivering goods and services (Operations Management) and delivering complex and unique outcomes for stakeholders Project management. It will cover operations strategy, process development, planning and control, project management, quality, supply chain management, and improving how the product/service is delivered.
The aims of this module are to provide an understanding of the challenges of operations in a wide variety of contexts, and the ability to deploy approaches and tools to meet those challenges.
In this module, you will be able to develop and demonstrate the following Graduate Attributes:

2.Outline syllabus
The module is divided into three areas;
Process design Planning and control - including goods /service demands, process and job design, capacity, layout and flow, supply networks and quality
Project management - including time and activity planning, stakeholder management and change management
Strategic or thematic approaches (e.g. TQM, Lean, Category Management)
3.Teaching and learning activities
Contact time: 1 x 1hr lecture, plus 1 x 1hr workshop + 2hrs seminar.

Description: Individual Examination: 2 hours equivalent duration, intended as a “take home” time constrained exam
