1. Brief description and aims of module:
This module looks at how the understanding and application of biology contributes to contemporary human society.
2. Outline syllabus
You will learn how biology is an important part of everyday human life, with a particular emphasis on recent advances in biological knowledge. You will consider themes such as the role of biotechnology, genetics, biosafety/biosecurity, bioethics, role of biology (incl. agriculture) and biologists in society.
3. Teaching and learning activities
Some sessions are more lecture based sessions whilst others involve practical work and workshops.
The presentation element of this module can be by the medium of a blog, website or interview style talk, but all will also require an element of questions and answers, in an interview or online format.

Description: Interpretation test (2 hours, unseen)
