1. Brief description and aims of module:
This 4-week text-based module challenges your emerging acting process by exploring contrasting styles of text. The module aims are to:
Challenge your acting process by exploring complex dramatic texts
Refine your ability to assess and respond to a text
Provide you with opportunities to enhance your engagement with collaborative rehearsal practices
2.Outline syllabus
This module considers how, as an actor, you can draw on that experience in the way you respond to a text as part of your rehearsal process. This module focuses on comedic text and the way that they challenge the naturalistic approach to acting that you will have developed at Level 4. You will also continue your exploration of how research and critical thinking inform your creative and reflective processes.
3.Teaching and learning activities
In all your second year modules, you will be taught across a series of discipline classes that underpin your development as an actor. These classes include (but are not exclusive to) Acting, Context, Improvisation, Movement, Singing, Voice, stage combat etc.
For this module you will engage with practical classes and then consider the impact of your learning through your reflective practice and the performance of rehearsed scenes.
