Wildcat Speech

Welcome to Speech class! As a freshman in this one-semester required course, we will participate in activities that will boost your confidence and improve your communication skills. We will build on your performance and leadership abilities and develop your voice, your vocabulary and speaking fluency . You will experience personal development and make new social connections (without a cell phone!) We will learn to "persuade others" and overcome fear of impromptu speaking. We will learn to "argue a point or feeling" effectively, become a better listener, use critical thinking skills and apply these new and improved abilities to all other aspects of your life.

Competition Opportunities: If interested, I would like to put together a team to compete at the IHSAA (Idaho High School Activities Association) Some events we could compete in are as follows: Duo Interpretation, Dramatic and Humorous Interpretation, Informative and Extemporaneous Speaking and more!

While we will be "playing games" at the beginning of our class to get relaxed and become a support team, this video is a brief humorous look at how we are not alone in our fear of public speaking. No worries! This class will be fun and you may even grow to like being "the center of attention" if only for a brief few minutes!
