Hey there, future geologists! We're halfway through the school year, but Earth's dance party hasn't paused (although maybe you have for winter break and snow days!). We are puzzling into the incredible world of plate tectonics, where massive slabs of rock called plates glide, grind, and crash across the planet's outer layer. It's a story of mountains rising, oceans swirling, and the occasional rumble of an earthquake – pretty exciting for something stuck under our feet, right? Studying these movements helps us understand the Earth's history, predict earthquakes, and even find resources like oil and gas! So next time you feel a bump on the ground, or see a mountain scraping the clouds, remember: it's just our planet doing its crazy tectonic tango!
Stay curious, White Team Geologists!

We will be finishing up with a poster project on one of the main areas of government, the Constitution, the branches of government, or the Bill of Rights. Students will choose which topic they would like to work with.

Mrs. Guiswite’s students are going to begin studying percentages. Moving forward, the students should be able to calculate their own percentage grade on quizzes and tests. In addition, students should be able to relate fractions, decimals, and percents. We are also going to practice estimating to find a percent. Encourage your student to tell you the percent off as a fraction and decimal when you see a good sale!
