In preparing for your exams and assessments you must read the JCQ regulations on this page, failure to follow these will result in a malpractice investigation being submitted to the exam board.
Access Arrangements
Access arrangements which have been approved by the SENCo and/or exam board will show, along with all other exam information, on Focus. If you believe you are entitled to access arrangements and these are not showing please email accessarrangements@barton.ac.uk
You need to provide Learning Support with information from your school or previous centre regarding access arrangements for these to continue at Barton Peveril. This is in line with Joint Council for Qualifications regulations in building a history of need.
Further information and support provided by Learning Support can be found here.
Personal Exam Timetable & Exam Clashes
Your personal exam timetable and other information including your room and seat can be found on Focus under exams.
Exams are entered onto Focus by the following times:
November GCSE - Early October
January Vocational - Mid October
Summer A Level & GCSE - Mid January
Summer Vocational - Early March
Please check soon after these date that you have been entered for all the exams you are expecting. Rooms and seat allocation will be completed at least 1 week prior to the exam date to minimise changes and confusion. Please be aware sometimes changes have to happen and this could be up to the day of the exam.
Clashes occur when you have two or more exams scheduled at the same time. We are permitted under JCQ regulations to move one to the other session in the same day and you will be under exam conditions and supervised at all times from the start of your first exam to the end of your second.
Clashes will be processed after the above dates, you will be emailed all details regarding your clash and Focus will be updated so you timetable is personalised.
Some clashes request in lunchtime supervision and you must bring you food and drink for the whole day as you are not able to buy food from the food outlets. This ensures there is no risk of you committing malpractice by talking to another candidate or subject staff and risking being disqualified from the exam. The poster below shows all regulations you are to adhere to during lunchtime supervision.
Getting to Exams
Externally set exams could be on a Monday morning and the college provided Bluestar buses will earlier run on Monday's for the Summer session only.
For November and January sessions you will need to make your own travel arrangements to ensure you are at college in time for your exam. If you have a Barton Peveril Bluestar bus pass you are able to use any public bus to get to college.
