Centre Assessment Points (CAPs) take place four times throughout the academic year.
When: There are 3 CAP sessions in the year.
November - A Level year 2 and Vocational courses years 1 & 2 (full exams set up and practice)
February - A Level years 1 & 2 and GCSE courses (in class)
April - Vocational courses years 1 & 2 (in class)
Start Times: All morning sessions start at 8.45am and afternoon sessions at 12.45pm
Rooms: November CAP will be a full exams experience in preparation for the real exams later in the year. This means you will be in the sports hall except if you have approved access arrangements which require an alternative room e.g. use of a reader, scribe, word processor.
February and April CAPs are conducted in your normal classroom with the exception of those with readers, scribes or own room access arrangements.
All students can access room information on their timetable via Focus.
Access Arrangements: The Joint Council of Qualifications (JCQ) requires the college to gather evidence of current need as well as evidence of your normal way of working within in the classroom and in CAPs/assessments. Without this no access arrangements can be approved for by the college and in turn the exam boards. If you no longer require an access arrangements please go to see Learning Support.
Revision: There is no on the day revision class before your CAPs, you must be at your allocated room at least 5 minutes before the start times above.
