Minas Street is a one-way street that starts with our street block at a children's playground and so there is relatively little traffic on Minas Street. Gonzalo Ramirez Street, which crosses our street at the end of the block, is a busy thoroughfare with bus stops and a few small stores.
The traffic in front of the house is mostly from people looking for a parking space during working hours or for visiting neighbors. At the weekend there is therefore free space on the roadside and room to set up a barbecue.
In Uruguay, when the weather is nice, it is common to fire up the barbecue on the sidewalk or at the side of the road for dinner or a cozy chat with invited guests.
We are happy to provide our guests with a barbecue on request. We would recommend Saturdays and Sundays. There is almost no car traffic on these days.
Vegetarians can get good grilled food at the weekly organic market on Wednesdays and we can recommend the Magallanes butcher's shop to carnivores. You can find the opening hours on Google Maps (above).
Everything else you need for the kitchen or bathroom can be found in a small grocery store nearby, on the corner of Gonzalo Ramirez street.
