The apartments are all self-contained, independent units. In the course of time, the apartments were repeatedly equipped with additional appliances. There is an air conditioning system that ensures that the temperatures in the apartment do not get too high in summer. In winter, this system can be switched to heating to ensure that you are always nice and warm in the apartment.
All apartments have a fully functional kitchen or kitchenette. As can be seen in some of the photos, the kitchens are equipped with a microwave, fridge, hotplates and/or oven for gratinating. Plates, cups, glasses, pots and bowls are available. If you are missing anything, please do not hesitate to contact us.
As there are no railroads for passenger transport in Uruguay, the country is organized with a good bus service. Basically, the capital cities of the Departamentos (the provinces as they are called here in Uruguay) are equipped with a good public transport system, which is licensed to private bus companies. The buses run with sufficient frequency at acceptable prices and many buses even have WLAN. The Google Maps map shows all the bus stops and the frequency of the buses.
The towns and seaside resorts are connected by very convenient express bus routes, which can be booked via a central website.
The links to the websites can be found on the "IMPORTANT LINKS" page. For express buses, we can expect an approximate fare of around 8 US dollars per one hundred kilometers.
There are bus lines between the cities that stop at many bus stops, and the prices are less.
At the moment we offer you the option of paying for your accommodation on arrival. You can pay with cash in Uruguayan pesos, in US dollars or in euros. Our online payment system allows you to pay online by credit card at any time in US dollars. Please ask us to send you a link to our online payment system.
People with experience from other Latin American countries and in comparison to Argentina and Brazil rate teh safety high. In some streets there are parking attendants who patrol during the day and in the evening where there is a lot of parking traffic. These parking attendants are authorized by the municipality and live off donations from parkers.
In addition, a friendly approach asking for a small donation is something you encounter every day on the street and which initially makes some people feel a little uncomfortable, probably because they are not sure how these people will react if they are turned away. Many beggars are friendly, a little insistent, but not aggressive.
If you arrive in your own car, you can use the parking facilities on the street in front of the house just like other residents. There are no parking facilities in a multi-storey parking lot or closed parking spaces for luxury limousines and we are not aware of any in the immediate vicinity.
Motorhomes will find a parking space at ground level in the street in front of the head (T-junction towards the beach promenade). There is also direct parking for motorhomes on the street of the German Embassy.
Yes, there is! There are several small grocery stores in the immediate vicinity of the accommodation and a supermarket with the usual assortment is about four blocks away from the accommodation.
There are several RedPago and Abitab bureaus within walking distance of the accommodation. Through these companies it is possible to make domestic money transfers to people with or without a bank account. Some also have Western Union branches, which also offer international cash transactions. There are also international ATMs within walking distance, at a government ANCAP gas station on the waterfront and at a "Park Hotel" casino in Rodo Park (ATM open until 2am) that dispense cash in US dollars or local currency.
A little way up Minas Street, in the next block there is a collection container on the right-hand side of the street.
In Montevideo, waste is collected in containers, which are usually placed at the side of the street every second block (every second manzana). There you will find information on how to separate waste.
Further information can be found on the Municipio B - Montevideo website:

No, unfortunately not at the moment. In general, you can expect to pay around 30 US dollars for reasonably priced transportation from the airport to your accommodation by car and around 10 US dollars from the central bus station to your accommodation.
Guests have told us that they have been offered a free cab via the booking.com booking platform. These free cabs do not belong to our accommodation and, according to the guests, are offered via the platform in certain surveys as a marketing campaign or in connection with other tour operators or airlines. These transfers must therefore be organized in good time via the contacts listed there.
In the event that you wish to make use of other transportation from Carrasco Airport or from the central bus terminal called Tres Cruzes in Montevideo, you are welcome to get in touch with our responsible contact person. There is also the option of using public cabs and UBER passenger transportation at short notice. You can find contact details for UBER and other cabs on our "IMPORTANT LINKS" page.
We are often visited by travelers who want to take advantage of the opportunity to apply for a visa at the embassies. The question then arises as to how far the embassy is from the accommodation. Both embassies are only a few blocks away and can be reached on foot from the accommodation.
For our guests, we would like to recommend a few cafés and restaurants in the area that we also visit ourselves.
In addition, the Palermo barrio has an above-average number of restaurants, cafés and bars that are within walking distance, so you will discover some on your way around the district that Google Maps will only show you if you select the corresponding high resolution. Most establishments are well documented in Maps.
Note: In general, many cafés are closed on Sunday mornings and only open at midday!
We have created an online map with some restaurants that we visit ourselves. You can find the map on our "IMPORTANT LINKS" page.
