At Bantucola, we explore a wide range of topics through a distinctly Black-centered lens. We’re looking for writers whose work is conscious, bold, and committed to accelerating the growth and empowerment of the African Diaspora in Pensacola, FL.
We encourage pieces that are thought-provoking—even a little edgy. The kind of work that leans into the question: What does a bright, prosperous future look like for Black Pensacola? And more importantly, how do we get there? If you feel a little nervous writing something that prioritizes Black Pensacola above all else, you’re probably right where you need to be.
On our platform, you have the freedom to say what needs to be said. Our core principles and six knowledge pillars serve as a compass, but your voice drives the story. We may not always agree—and that’s okay. True dialogue thrives in diversity. At the end of the day, we honor the idea that while we may come from many tribes, we are one nation.
This is a space where Black Pensacola can speak freely—without the pressure of explaining or justifying our perspectives to a dominant culture.
We don’t have a blueprint for this—because we’re creating it together. Bantucola is an evolving space, shaped by the voices of its writers and community. You’re not just contributing articles—you’re helping build a platform that bets on us, our people, and our future.
We’re excited for you to join us on this journey.
