Tsar Nicholas, was and is looked down upon due to the fact that he was against people who weren’t able to support themselves, as well as the fact that he had openly stated he didn’t want his political position. Even though people were turning against him, they mourned the death of him and his family and from the time that they were murdered and after their death it had led Russia into a web of lies and violence.
The people who were on the side of the Romanov's hoped that the Tsar's wife and children were alive.
”the Bolshevik government in Moscow decided to keep the fate of the family secret. It admitted that the Tsar had been executed for crimes against the Russian people, but claimed that the rest of the family had been removed to safety. Many people, including relatives of the royal family, believed these reports and held out hope that the Tsarina and her five children were alive” (“The Riddle of the Romanov's”).
As of now the Russian community is seen as split, the people who heavily agreed with the monarchs think that they should go back to that time, but those whose relatives had suffered and who were told certain lies about the death of them are happy they aren’t in a position like that anymore.
