Thesis Statement:
Before the Indian Green Revolution in the 1960’s, India had to start rationing due to the fact that they were going through a drought and a war with Pakistan which was causing other countries to not import goods to India. The Bengal Famine and periodic droughts caused a high death toll which caused the government to react by creating the five year plan to help reform India. The Green Revolution helped to increase their crops and help them stop rationing all their food preventing starvation.
