Description

In this project, I found two cybersecurity articles, and I evaluated them. The end of this page shows my Cyber security certificate.

Lessons learned

In this project, I learned how important cybersecurity, is to protect sensitive data and personal information from potential hackers. Being educated about cybersecurity will help limit the threats of potential people with malicious intent.

Uber's Data Breached

Uber was hacked in September 2022, and an 18-year-old was able to breach the internal databases of Uber. The hacker claimed that Uber's ineffective security made the breach possible. The hacker was able to gain access through the use of manipulation. The hacker had convinced an Uber contractor to reveal the password to Uber's system. To prevent this from happening, we should improve our security measures. Also, we should have more common sense, but in general, don't share your password.

Crypto.com Breach

On January 17, 2022, Crypto admitted that 483 of its users had unauthorized withdrawals from their accounts. The company also reported on that same day that several accounts had transactions being approved without second-factor authentication. To prevent this from happening, we should have a password manager it will help store and manage login credentials. After the incident, Crypto.com improved its security system and reimbursed all the money that was stolen from the users.

My Certificate

I completed the CCBC Cybersecurity Training, which was one of the assignments for this module, and during the process of getting the certificate, I learned a lot and found the lessons helpful.
