We had to take lots of notes on other animals and their adaptations to add to our animal.
This is Elyanah's individual idea.she did not draw a animal but she did make a lot of cool adaptations. these are some of her adaptations
It has panels on its paws and when it touches the ice it generates heat and heats up its body.
It can mirror whatever colour it touches.
It can imitate different sounds.
We learnt about food webs in the sea most of the animals in the sea eat krill as part of their diet
This is Addi's individual idea. She did an under water animal here are some things about it
1.It has bendy bones to fit through small gaps.
2. It is blind so it has lots of feely things so it can feel around.
3.It has Flippers to help it move.
We each designed our own habitat and then put our designs together to make our final design.
This is Emily's individual idea she did an animal that looks like a frog here are some of its adaptations
It has a thick layer of blubber.
It's white but when it eats moss it turns the same colour as the moss.
It hops around like a frog.
Snow glistening in the light of hundreds if not thousands of little glowing worms. Dagger sharp icicles glinting in the light. Mountains looming in the distance. Icebergs floating on the lake like the queen on her throne. In the distance the sun lights up sending a blue glow over everything in sight
Main predator
The Winged Fox has Bright green and yellow wings so it can hunt from the sky and long red claws to tear apart its prey. It has a big bushy tail to wrap around its prey so it can't move while it uses its big sharp teeth to eat them. It has big colourful ears so it can hear its prey and a big nose so it can smell them too. It has a special grip on its paws to help prevent slipping on the ice. The winged fox is 3.5 m tall and 2m wide
ears
To listen out for their prey from a long way away.
claws
To grab on to their prey and stop them from slipping over.
wings
To fly around and look for Their prey.
tail
To wrap around their prey so they don't run away.
long legs
To chase after their prey
dagger sharp spikes
To defend them self.
laser sharp eyes
To spot their prey from far away and up in the air
sharp teeth
To bite and eat their prey.
Our final creature
Female white glower
The female slightly smaller ears and tail than the male. They have bright bioluminescent glowing spots on there tummy with sharp claws for fighting off predators and for digging holes through harsh ice for hibernation.
Male white glower
The male has Big ears for hearing things in far distances.Long tail to act as a blanket. Bright spots to sense predators or prey. Sharp claws for fighting and digging holes during winter
White glower babies
Our final model
The White Glowers adaptions
Claws
The White Glower uses its claws to dig holes through the harsh, cold ice in the ground for its hibernation.
Paws
The White Glower has a very special panel on its paw. When it touches ice the panel will sense it and start heating up to keep warm in the cold.
Tail
The White Glowers tail is huge and fluffy that it wraps around itself as a blanket to stay warm at night.
Fur
The White Glowers fur is two layers thick to help it keep warm.
Bioluminious Spots
The White Glower has these blue and black spots on them. At night when a predator is coming for it, the white spots glow and it can sense when they are coming and how far away they are.
Eyes
The White Glowers eyes are big with double eye lids to keep the snow out of there eyes.
Ears
The White Glowers ears are big so they can hear things from very far distances.
Mouth
The White Glower can imitate other sounds such as ice crashing and other animals.
The White Glower
introduction
Hibernation is one of the most vital survival strategies , whether it's to conserve energy or even to slow down ageing and like lots of animals the White Glower hibernates also. The white glower also known as the Flore Albo is a predator. It's found on planet X in dark, icy cave areas.
Adaptations/Appearance
The White Glower is a very unique animal the full size of the White Glower is 1 m fully grown. A baby White Glower is approximately 25 cm tall. They have lots of different interesting features that help it survive. They has two thick layers of fur to help it keep warm in the cold weather. Its sharp claws help it to climb the rocks in its habitat and to dig holes for hibernation. The white glower has small white spots that glow at night for two reasons, one of them is so that is can see when it's dark and the other reason is for at night when a predator is coming at it, the white spots glow and it can sense when they are coming and how far away they are. They are a four legged white animal with black and blue spots. The White Glower has huge eyes to help it see with double eyelids to keep out snow, dirt, and rain. Its long tail is huge a fluffy to wrap around itself as a blanket. The White Glowers paws get very cold so it has a very unique feature, it has a heating panel on its paws. When a paw touches the ice or snow the panel senses it and warms up the paws and body. This next adaption is one of the most important adaptions. The White Glower has a very good memory it can remember lots of things such as the places they've been before and even sounds! They can imitate other noises around it to scare off predators. They have Whiskers that act as their GPS, navigating them through their environment.
Diet / Nutrition
The White Glower is a predator which means it actively hunts prey. The White Glower has sharp front teeth that are really strong to chew the glow worms. the White Glower eats glow worms and berries that are found around the outside of the cave. Surprisingly the White Glower can survive two days without eating food but after that it must eat or else it won't have enough energy and die.The White Glower can eat 2 pounds or more of food a day. Although the white glower is a predator some animals can eat the White Glower to like the Winged fox.hi
Reproduction
The White Glower is an endangered animal and there are only approximately 144 left on plant X.The White Glower gives birth to live young and has a maximum of 12 in a litter and only gives birth once every year. The White Glower has no spots when first born so it's a very vulnerable creature when its by its self, which is why the parents are very protective. After a week the spots arrive and the parents are able to let them roam around freely. The life span of a White glower is around 60 - 70 years.
Habitat
The White Glower lives in caves near lakes and streams. The White Glower has adapted to survive in harsh cold areas. They do not have one specific home, they move around caves to find a new home after finding a mate. The caves they live in are covered in snow on the inside with icicles hanging down for the roof. Whenever there is a storm , predator or something the White Glower hides from it goes deep into the cave and digs a hole under the ground.
Conclusion
The White Glower is an awesome unique creature on Planet X. It has adapted over time to live in the harsh cold cave areas.
