H.P. Baldwin High School Army Junior ROTC

The JROTC Vision:

JROTC aspires to deliver a high-quality program focused on citizenship, leadership, and development, concurrently fostering strategic alliances with local communities and educational institutions.

The JROTC Mission:

"To Motivate Young People to Be Better Citizens."

Here at H.P. Baldwin High School Army Junior ROTC, our objective is for each cadet to graduate high school and pursue a higher education or career path. Cadets who apply themselves will reach academic excellence, gain leadership tools, obtain character-building values, aid their community, and be better prepared for their future.

JROTC History:

The U.S. Army Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) is one of the largest character development and citizenship programs for youth in the world. The U.S. Army JROTC was established by the National Defense Act of 1916, which organized JROTC programs at public and private educational institutions. In 1964, Congress expanded the program to all military services. As congressionally mandated by Title 10 United States Code, Section 2031, each military must have a JROTC program to "instill in students in United States secondary educational institutions the values of citizenship, service to the United States, personal responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment." The JROTC mission is the key to the program's success.
