Clubhouse -
Please leave the hallway lights on. We are using LED bulbs, so the cost is minimal. Sometimes the lights are being turned off while someone else is using the clubhouse.
Some windows are being left open to air out the clubhouse. The spa creates moisture, so airing out the building will help reduce mustiness, mold growth, and odors.
Our toilets can handle toilet paper and human waste. Please put trash, sanitary napkins in the trash, but put toilet paper and human waste in the toilets.
2/20/25

For units B - 105, J - 129, K – 136 and C-111 please assure that you are able to provide access.

June 27, 2022 - Pool Update
The pool opening has been delayed due to the plaster not being fully cured (hardened) which makes it fragile. Additionally the plaster affects the pH and other chemicals. We will reopen the pool once the pH and other chemicals are at safe levels, determined by the King County Department of Health.
We anticipate the pool and spa will open on July 4, 2022.
We encourage you to review the Rules & Regulations (Common Elements) to be aware of the expectations at the pool this summer. Further updates will be posted on the bulletin board and/or possibly via email.
POOL REMINDER: Please make SURE the gate latches behind you when coming and going from the pool area.
May 17, 2022 - Water Shutdown
Water will be shutdown to our complex while work is done by Lake Forest Park City Works concerning a water main issue on 25th.
If you have any questions, please reach out by emailing board@balatonboard.org.

HOA Board Meeting Tues 4/12/22

6/29 Updates
Due to the extreme heat, King County DOH has allowed for the pool to fully reopen early.
In anticipation of fully reopening on Wednesday, the exercise equipment has been moved back to the exercise room.
There is a HOA meeting scheduled for Weds. Jul 14, 2021 at 5:30 pm.
Someone poured grease down the drain of the clubhouse. This could lead to plumbing costs, so please dispose of grease in the trash instead.
Pet owners need to pick up after their pets.
Update (4/27/21): The rest of the buildings have been washed.
Update: Buildings E, L, and G have been cleaned. The other buildings will start being cleaned Tuesday 4/20 (Weds 4/21 at the latest). Here's the notice that went out.
(Noticed sent out on Apr. 5)
Starting April 12th, McLeod has been contracted to clean the buildings. The scope of work includes blowing off roofs of building and carports, applying moss treatment where necessary, washing buildings, decks & patios, and windows & screens.
Decks and Patios must be completely cleared off by April 12. Neither the HOA nor the contractor are responsible for any damage to items left on decks/patios or any owner planted vegetation.
Gym Update (5/18/21)
The elliptical and exercise bikes are available to use in the main room of the clubhouse. Please sign up and sign in on the calendar, keep the door open to the pool deck and wear a mask. Thank you!
Security Camera Update (4/27/21)
After two zoom meetings offered to the entire complex, there are/will be 12 Blink Mini cameras set up around the complex. Although the security cameras project was facilitated and paid for by the HOA, the board assumes no responsibility for property or people affected by any criminal activity. The board responded to the growing desire for more conversations and safety measures. Cameras are located in areas that experienced higher car thefts/vandalism/prowls and driveways. A resident met with a LFP police officer who recommended the cameras combined with signage that warns people of the cameras.
Pool Update (4/27/21)
We are using guidelines from the Department of Health to determine how to safely open. King County is currently very close to moving back into Phase 2, so guidelines will fluctuate based on what phase we are in. These guidelines include
Physical distancing
Appointment system (another calendly will be used)
Limited capacity
Mask wearing (unless 6 feet apart or in the pool)

Spa Reopening
1. Part of the reopening plan requires users of the spa to receive basic training about COVID-19 safety.
2. We have made a fairly simple training online. If you'd like a paper version of this, please email the board and we will give you a paper copy.
3. Once you do the simple training online, feel free to make up to two appointments, on week in advance. The link to the online calendar is https://calendly.com/balatonspa/spa.
4. On Saturdays the calendar will be printed and online appointments will close for those next 7 days. You can write in 3 more appointments on the printed calendar, taped to the spa door. However the following week's calendar will be made available online.
A Facebook group page exists called “Balaton Condominium Homes. Please join so we can increase communication among our owners and residents. The hope is to discuss important things like security, solutions to pet waste problems, events, and communicate information.
Security
We've had two meetings to discuss installing cameras around the property. We've discussed the need based on crime, as well as camera purchase, location, and next steps. Our next steps are to find the right volunteers who willingly host the Blink outdoor cameras on their wifi. If interested, please reach out to ann@balatonhomes.org. Volunteers are expected to be able to do the following:
Install and use the Blink app.
Install the modules and cameras and connect them to your Blink app.
Replace batteries and adjust cameras as needed.
Join the email group so we can communicate with each other if an even occurs and we need to check video footage.
*There's a certain level of comfort that is needed to be a volunteer.
Pet Waste
Unfortunately we notice an increase in pet waste left on the property. We are considering Dog Poo DNA, poop bag dispensers, etc. Please email the board if you'd like to be a part of the research team.
This site is maintained by the Balaton Condominium Owners Association. To contact all Board members, you may send email to board@balatonhomes.org.
