This section will show you a step-by-step guide on how to turn on the "Speak" feature on the iPad.

This is a ONE TIME set-up.

After making this change on the ipad, it will not need adjusted again and students will always have access to it on their designated ipad.

The teacher will provide the student with an iPad which has a PDF version of the test loaded onto Google Classroom. Students will have practiced how to access the PDF version of the test from Google Classroom. Once students are able to access the test on Google Classroom, they will be able to use the "speak" feature which will then read the specific words or phrases to students who are struggling to read the text independently.

Steps

Students will touch a word on the PDF document that they are unfamiliar with. The word will become highlighted and options will appear above the word. Students will select the "speak" option, and the ipad will read the word.
