Tablets - Programming and coding

The below tablets provide usage of a Bi-directional (read codes, clear codes, live data, active tests, and service functions) scan tool that will perform Programming, Coding, As-Build Data installing, and VIN Writing. We have programming through these units with a VALID Total Care Program for Mercedes Benz and BMW for specific modules. Most other manufactures require a laptop with manufacture software and a J2534 or VCMI. You may have some programming and coding options for other manufactures, but it is determinate upon manufacture requirements.

Accessories and connector kits

MSOBD2KIT

This kit includes the accessory connectors that would connect with the MS909, MS919, MSULTRA, and TS608. These connectors are designed to connect to all early OBDII vehicles that have a connector to access modules that are not included in the OBDII port. Most of the time found under the hood of the vehicle.

ONLY AVAILABLE IN EUROPE

For vehicles produced by Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep equipped with Wifi starting 2017 and newer have what is called a Safety Gateway Module. This restricts access to the vehicle through the OBD2 connector. Without the MSCHRY12+8 connector or a Auto Auth subscription the customer will not be able to clear codes, perform active tests, perform service functions, etc. For both the connector and subscription the Total Care Program must be valid. The Auto Auth Subscription is shown below.

Connection Issues

KEY ON ENGINE OFF

The vehicle needs to be in the Key on Engine off position. If the vehicle is equipped with a key please turn the key in the ignition cylinder until you hear 2 clicks (do not start the car). If the vehicle is a "Push to Start" vehicle take your foot off the brake press the "Start" button once or twice depending on the vehicle. The dashboard should illuminate most lights on the dashboard as a test when the vehicle is in this mode.

BENT OBDII PINS

Have the customer look at the pins at the vehicle and at the tool. Make sure they are not bent or misaligned for proper connection and usage.

aUTO VIN/DECODE VIN ERROR

Most vehicles between 1996 to 2006 will not be able to be have a VIN decoded option. You will find vehicles that will have VIN decoding available but it will be limited. You will be able to Manually Select the vehicle to enter and diagnose it. Check updates and connectors for bent pins. If the vehicle is "newer" it may not be available using the VIN decode option as of yet.

Did they get a new unit? Did they have an older unit? What did they do with the old unit?

We can transfer registration
- - Was the tool previously registered? What happened to their old tool?
If tool was already registered they have 30 days from original registration to get free software (Reset by HQ). After 30 days we cannot reset the free software.
If they replace their unit for a new one we can transfer their old information to their new unit. Old unit after transfer will not be usable.
