What is ADAS?
Advanced driver-assistance systems, are technological features that are designed to increase the safety of driving a vehicle. These systems referred to also as ADAS, use a human-machine interface to improve the driver's ability to react to dangers on the road.
These systems increase safety and reaction times to potential through early warning and automated systems. Some of these systems are built standard to certain vehicles, while aftermarket features and even entire systems are available to add at a later date to personalize the vehicle to the driver.
This Technology has greatly increased the popularity of safety systems in vehicles. A small sample of the available systems include the following:
Adaptive Cruise Control
Anti-lock Brakes
Forward Collision Warning
High Beam Safety System
Lane Departure Warning
Traffic Signals Recognition
Traction control
Night Vision
All Around View Monitoring
In addition to windshield replacements, new tires, new headlights and brake work can also throw off ADAS system calibration. If you replace a bumper or add any aftermarket vehicle accessories, calibration may be necessary. Winter or muddy driving conditions can temporarily affect these systems, as well, when debris covers sensors on bumpers, car panels or windshields.
2. Why is ADAS important?
The majority of road accidents are caused by human error. These advanced safety systems were developed to automate and enhance aspects of the driving experience to increase safety and safe driving habits. ADAS have been proven to reduce the number of fatalities on the road by also reducing the chance for human error.
These technologies can be split into two main categories: those that automate driving, such as automatic emergency braking systems, and those that help improve drivers' awareness, such as lane departure warning systems.
The entire purpose of these safety systems is to increase road safety, reducing vehicular injuries by decreasing the overall number of traffic accidents. They also limit the number of insurance claims due to minor accidents in which there is property damage but no injuries.
Advantages of ADAS include:
Automated adaptation and enhancement of safety systems to improve driving among the population. ADAS are intended to avoid collisions by using technologies to alert drivers to potential hazards or take over control of the vehicle to avoid such danger.
Adaptive features. Automated lighting, adaptive cruise control, and pedestrian crash avoidance mitigation (PCAM) are features that incorporate navigational warnings to alert drivers to potential dangers, such as vehicles in blind spots, lane departures, and more.
Sensors have the potential to self-calibrate in the future to focus on the inherent safety and dependability of these systems.

COMMON ISSUES TO LOOK FOR WHEN CALIBRATIONS WONT GO THROUGH:
EXCESSIVE LIGHTING EFFECTING THE CAMERA OR TARGET BOARD.
UNLEVEL FLOOR
THE VEHICLES TIRES COULD BE UNDER OR OVER INFLATED.
TO MANY OBJECTS IN THE AREA OF THE TARGET.
BEHIND THE TARGET, MIGHT NEED ALL BLACK SURROUNDINGS.
THE VEHICLE MIGHT BE OVER THE RECOMMENDED WEIGHT. NO EXCESSIVE WEIGHT. CAR SHOULD BE EMPTY ON A FULL TANK OF GAS.
MAKE SURE THE CAMERA IS MOUNTED CORRECLTY, ESPECIALLY IF THAT CALLER DIDNT INSTALL IT.
THE VEHICLES SUPENSION MAY BE CUSTOMIZED TO BE HIGHER OR LOWER. (WE DO NOT RECOMMEND PERFORMING THE CALIBRATION WHEN THE SUSPENSION HAS BEEN MODIFIED.) ALSO AFTERMARKET WHEELS OR TIRES WILL AFFECT THE CALIBRATION. VEHCILES TURNED INTO RV'S OR CAMPERS.
REQUIRED SHOP SPACE FOR ADAS CALIBRATION FRAMES SHOULD BE A MINIMUM: 40 X 20FT.
MAKE SURE THE VEHCILE HAS A PYSHICAL BUTTON FOR THE ADAS SYSTEM YOUR CALIBRATING.
11.MAKE SURE WINSHIELDS, RADARS, AND CAMERAS ARE CLEAN OF DEBRI TO PROPERLY CALIBRATE.
12. DOUBLE CHECK TO MAKE SURE THE CUSTOMERS IS USING THE CORRECT TARGET. MAKE SURE THEIR MEASUREMENTS ARE CORRECT. (THEY CAN USE THE ADAS FILTER FOUND INSIDE THE ADAS TOOLS FOR SETUPS.)
SOME VEHICLES WE CAN NOT PERFORM CALIBRATIONS ON YET:
NISSAN:
2020+ Nissan Armada
202O+ Nissan Titan
2021 Nissan Rouge
2020+ Nissan Sentra
2022 Nissan Pathfinder
FORD:
2021 Any F Series
Bronco= Use a Ford Escape
2021 Mustang Mach E
2021 Ford Transit
TESLA:
All Models 2018 and up
Toyota:
Supra
DODGE, JEEP, CHRYSLER:
2017+ Have to use a Auto Auth subscription or 12+8 cable
FIAT, MASERATI, ALPA ROMEO:
You have to use the 12+8 Chrysler connector. Auto Auth will not work with these FCA brands.
