5th Grade World Languages: Learning Environments

Inspiration: Ms. Barenska's and Ms. Wang's immersion-based language classrooms and challenges language-learners face every day.


Challenge: "How might we design the optimal learning environment in which no two people share the same native language?"


Process:

1. Discussed the many things that can be "lost in translation" and shortcomings of visual signage and emojis. Viewed short film, "Immersion."

2. Followed customized 5 Redesign Learning Environment for Multi-Lingual Community based on Design Thinking structure.
