CLASS APP FOR WEB (MacOS)
You may join your appointment using the Web-based version of the Class application.
Be sure you have set Google Chrome as your default browser.
Be sure that you are using the most up-to-date version of Google Chrome before joining a session. Browsers that are not up to date may cause technical issues during your appointment.
**Note: Clearing your cache and restarting your computer are helpful troubleshooting methods while using the web version.
STEP 1
The day before the appointment, you will receive an email invitation from Class with "You've been invited to join a class!" in the subject line.
STEP 2
Click on the email's blue "Join Your Class" button meeting link. You should not be prompted for the Meeting ID or Meeting Passcode.
STEP 3
To join your session properly, Click “Join on the Web” to be directed to the Class web-based portal.

To join your session properly, Click “Launch Class for Web” to be directed to the Class web-based portal.

If a dialog pops up requesting to “Use your camera” & “Use your microphone,” Please click “ALLOW.”
STEP 5
You will be prompted to enable audio and video when the Class app opens. Please accept and turn on your video.
STEP 6
Once the Class app opens, you might see a message letting you know you are in the waiting room. Please join 5 to 10 minutes prior to your appointment time. If you are late, you will not be admitted.
Once allowed from the waiting room you will be in Class.
STEP 7
When the Class session is open, students can also adjust their Microphone (allows proctor to hear their voice) & Speaker (allows student to hear proctors voice) settings by clicking on the up arrow next to the microphone icon. Please turn on your camera when you enter the session.
STEP 8
Please locate the "Chat" button. It is located at the bottom of the page.
Once you click the "Chat" button, a new Chat panel will open to the left of the screen.
Click on the down arrow next to "View: Chat Home"
From the drop down menu, select your Instructor's name. You are only permitted to send chat messages to your proctor.
Send your proctor a chat message with your Full Name, your ACCeID number, and the name of the exam you signed up for.
ex: "HIST 1302 Test 1 Form B"
Click "Send"
STEP 9
Your proctor will send a "Proctor View" invitation. A white box will pop up. Please click "Yes".
Next, a Google window will pop up. You MUST select the "ENTIRE SCREEN" tab. (DO NOT USE "Chrome Tab" or "Window"!!)
You MUST click the picture/thumbnail that looks like your desktop before clicking the "Share" button.
Once you share your screen, open Blackboard and find the exam you signed up for. Be ready to show the exam page to your proctor.
STEP 10
Once you finish your exam, send a chat message and use the "Raise Hand" icon located on the bottom right of the screen next to the "Leave" button to notify your proctor that you are done.
Wait for your proctor to release you. Once you have received permission to leave the session, click the "Leave" button on the lower right of the screen.
STEP 11
Once you click the "Leave" button, you will have the option to "Leave Class" or Cancel. Click the gray "Leave Class" button.
Finally, a white box will pop up on your screen. Click the red "Leave Class" button.
You have now, successfully, completed your session.

Not having the correct settings in advance, may result in being removed from the session. If this happens you will need to reschedule your appointment. Please remember, we cannot accommodate same day or next day appointments.
If you join the session late you will remain in the waiting room. This is NOT due to a technical issue, and students will not be admitted once the testing session has started.
