Who can be an SI Leader?

Every student has potential to be an SI Leader at ACC! We recruit students each semester who stand out in their courses by performing well academically and receive a faculty nomination!

Our qualifications for students:

• GPA of 3.0 or higher.

• Grade of B or higher in course to be supported.

• Nomination by ACC faculty member who wants SI next semester.

Why nominate?

We use a nomination system when hiring our SI Leaders for a few reasons.

1. You are already familiar with their work: You've worked with them in your course, and you've gotten to see how they perform in their coursework firsthand.

2. Identify leaders: Beyond seeing them do well academically, you'll see how they can stand out in terms of leadership characteristics. Are they approachable to their peers? Are they charismatic? Do they hold study sessions with their classmates?

3. Working together: Identifying a student that you think you can work with as your SI is the most crucial aspect of nominating an SI because you'll work closely with this student over the next semester.
