My advice to undergraduates . . .

The biggest mistake I see students make is taking too many hours given their work and family responsibilities. This tends to result in poorer grades and more withdrawals, affecting everything from financial aid eligibility to options for transfer. 

As you embark on the challenge of earning your college degree, think of the fable, "The Tortoise and the Hare," and one of its important lessons: in a long race, slow and steady usually wins.
