Faculty news

General Information

• Fall Enrollment information (slide 5 & 6)

• Liberal Arts Pathway Discovery Event- volunteers needed for Liberal Arts Pathway Session Sept. 10th HLC 10am-12:30pm

• Workday- update your phone number, address and emergency contact information

• Grade changes and Retroactive withdrawals (slide 9)

• Email response times- Student emails must receive a reply no more than 2 business days after.

• Student Accomodations (slide 11)- Required: Absolutely meet every condition of the accommodation.

• Mentimeter- Carleen used Mentimeter to quiz colleagues on various econ, anth and geog questions and ACC values and enrollment information. Prizes were awarded.

Anthropology

• Program Review due in Spring 2025- more information soon from Carleen

• Lab materials have been updated- Skulls & Bones:  New lab materials for CYP, RRC, NRG, HLC, RGC, RRC, RVS (some are still on order). 

Economics

• DAC results- the economics department dac results received exemplary marks- thank you to Luke for his hard work here.

• ECON degree plan change- Students are required to complete 8 credit hours (2 courses each with a lab). Gen Ed core requirements are only 6 credit hours-Was this tabled or was there a decision made?

• Big surprise!!- Pending final approval from the administration a fulltime faculty position in economics will be posted for AY 25-26.

Geography

• ASPRS Gulf South Region Conference- University of Texas at Austin Commons Conference Center from Wednesday, March 12, through Friday, March 14, 2025. 

Faculty Evaluation Process Report- (slide 17) As of fall 2024, no more faculty input forms.  Faculty Reflection Form: intended to be thoughtful process aimed at improving instruction.

No portfolios for this year as we transition to a new system of evaluations.
