Fall 2022 Forecast
ACC continues to be optimistic about Fall enrollment.
AEG is scheduled to offer a 50/50 split between F2F and ONL.
F2F includes traditional and Hybrid (HYC) sections
ONL includes DIL and DLS
At RRC, ACC is trying out 8 week sessions (A and B) to facilitate students’ need to complete courses at an accelerated pace. ECON 2301, 2302 and ANTH 2301, 2351 will be offered as 8 wk HYC sections.
Dual Credit sections in ECON = 18 unstaffed; 1 F2F unstaffed at CYP. We can offer up to 4 sections for adjunct faculty.
Rachel and I will make changes to the schedule as needed.
Workday
Faculty are now responsible for updating Workday with their professional development hours completed outside of ACC organized workshops and trainings and LinkedIn Learning. Be sure to provide as much information as possible, e.g., hours, type, etc. This would apply to conferences, paper presentations, and any professional development completed outside of ACC registered training.
ACC employees can now complete compliance trainings in Workday Learning (Sexual Harassment, ADA Awareness, and Sexual Misconduct). Click on “Discover” and the most popular titles will appear which are the ones you need to complete if you are not in compliance. (Upon completion, these completed trainings will automatically appear in Workday-> Learning->My Learning-> View Learning Transcript)
Workday → Career → learning → training or Workday →Career → Development Items → add
Anthropology Program Review results
Rating totals: 22 Exemplary; 6 Acceptable; 6 Action Required (> 80% “pass”)
Comments were very helpful and provided good feedback for improvement.
Textbook approvals
Anthropology- (presented by Paul Lehman)- Images of the Past, 8th edition by T. Douglas Price and Gary Feinman- text approved to Anth 2302 approved list.
Economics- (presented by Stuart Greenfield) - Principles of Macroeconomics, version 9.1, by John Taylor and Akila Weerapana- text approved and added to Econ 2301 approved list.
Economics Course order
Lei Ji- Most 4 year universities require that Econ 2302 be completed prior to taking Econ 2301. Lei proposed to add a course note to the schedule for macroeconomics sections to recommend completing microeconomics first. A motion was made to add the note, “Students that need to complete both Econ 2302 (Principles of Microeconomics) and Econ 2301 (Principles of Macroeconomics) are encouraged to complete Econ 2302 prior to taking Eco 2301. This is strongly encouraged, but not required.”
The above information is listed in the Econ degree plan and Program Map.
Teaching Club
Iris Diamond- The AEG Teaching Club will meet after AEG meeting to discuss teaching strategies and successes. One hour of professional development can be added in workday for each participant.
