AUS is proud to announce our membership in the Global Online Academy (GOA)
Global Online Academy is a nonprofit organization that reimagines learning to empower students and educators to thrive in a globally networked society. It is comprised of member schools around the world that collaborate to offer challenging and unique online courses that are taught by member school faculty. GOA classes offer AUS students a chance to explore relevant, real-world topics alongside other students from all over the world. Class sizes are kept intentionally small, and students engage with their peers and a dedicated teacher asynchronously.
Currently, GOA classes will only be offered to students who have been accepted to our Distinguished or Honors Diploma Track. Students on the Distinguished or Honors Track will be able to sign up for one GOA course per year. GOA courses are demanding and should be seen as a replacement for a regular elective course at AUS. AUS students will earn graduation credit for successfully completing a GOA course (.5 credits per semester course). GOA courses can not be used to replace AUS's required departmental graduation requirements or an existing AUS class. GOA courses will be part of AUS students' official academic transcript, and final grades will be calculated into a student's Grade Point Average (GPA). AUS students can enroll only in the GOA courses listed in the AUS course catalog.
Students on the Distinguished or Honors Track will consult with their Counselor to enroll in specific GOA courses.
