Courtney Dauer

I have been a School Counselor with Aurora Public Schools for the past 24 years.  My "Why" is because my high school counselor believed in me at a time in my life when I couldn't believe in myself.  That made all the difference in the world to me and I am passionate about giving that back to every student I meet.  I am originally from Cajun Country in the bayous of deep South Louisiana, but I have grown past that humble upbringing to embrace the beautiful, rich diversity of Aurora, Colorado that has helped me to opened my heart and my eyes.  My favorite things to do are to Kayak with my husband and my two adult children, have coffee with a friend and lose track of time, read voraciously and cook.  I make an awesome Cajun Gumbo!
