Aurora Mental Health Center (AuMHC) therapists work with students in Aurora Public Schools to promote overall mental health and well-being. This includes working with students who may be struggling with managing their emotions, grieving a loss, or dealing with anger. It is also common for students to express concerns related to excessive, uncontrollable worry or difficulty finding motivation and energy to engage in activities because they feel sad or fatigued.
Did you know it is estimated that between 12 and 22 percent of school-aged children and youth have a diagnosable mental health disorder? AuMHC is committed to providing mental health support to students within the district, most often free of charge.
If any of this sounds like it could apply to you, or if you are interested in learning more about the services available to all students and families in APS, we invite you to reach out by completing this self-referral form. The information you provide in this form will not be shared with anyone in the school or caregivers without your consent. Once completed, our AuMHC therapist, Ms. Rodes, will reach out to you to schedule an appointment with you to explore what's going on and how she can possibly help.
