Band & Orchestra

Dear Students and Parents/Guardians, 

Welcome to Instrumental Music for the 2025-2026 school year. I am excited to continue my role as the Director of Bands & Orchestras at Mrachek Middle School.  I look forward to working with all of you to continue our tradition of musical excellence.

Orchestra and band are yearlong courses—you are making a commitment to stay in this class for the entire school year. It takes dedication and consistent practice to become the best musician you can be. The great news is that it will be rewarding, exciting, and fun!

About Teacher Peña:

Tr. Peña earned a degree in Music Education magna cum laude from Metropolitan State University of Denver, with additional training in music composition.  Their primary instruments are trumpet, tuba, saxophone and cello.  Prior to teaching at Mrachek, they taught music to grades 5-12 throughout the Denver Metro area.  These classes included drumline, jazz ensemble, vocal choirs, advanced music theory and music appreciation.

Tr. Peña is a lifelong musician dedicated to building a strong foundation of success for students of all abilities to explore, engage, and enjoy the creation and performance of music.  By blending fundamentals, music theory, and a wide range of musical cultures, they ensure that every student receives individualized attention in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
