A child prodigy, Roy Hargrove entered the world of jazz at a very young age. His musicianship was extreme. Many people wanted to play with him, and therefore this album features some of the world's greatest tenor saxophone players at the time it was produced in 1994. Roy's playing is funky, rhythmic, and beautiful. Sadly, his life was cut short by addiction and poor choices.
All trumpet players should strive to tongue the way Clifford Brown articulates.
