Reconnecting with the CRT Classroom Observation Tool

• Go to the Jamboard link here to record your responses as you self-reflect using the CRT tool:
• Use the CRT Observation Tool, introduced in the ATLA Winter Session, to assess yourself regarding your teaching style a majority of the time regarding the 7 CRT Principles. Input your individual data using the color BLUE.
• Use the CRT Observation Tool to assess yourself through the eyes of a current student in your class that belongs to a TARGET identity group of which you hold an AGENT identity. Input your individual data using the color YELLOW.

Jamboard Tips:

• This is a common document that everyone will contribute to — you will see others’ responses.
• Think of it like a piece of chart paper — all our ATLA participants will record their responses, so we can see where we are as a group.
• Do not add your name anywhere — these responses are anonymous.
• There are instructions on the page — please do not move or delete any of these, so they are present for future participants.
• You are only required to add your blue and yellow dots — keep all other writing and reflection for your journal and conversations in the synchronous sessions.

Checking In

• Reflect on how your work has changed since the school closures.
  • What are some of the ways that you are developing to remain culturally-responsive to your students?
  • What challenges do we still face with equity and CRT when we are teaching remotely?
• Create a representation of this new normal and post it to our Padlet -- it could be a drawing, video, audio, written piece, digital art (e.g. a meme).
  • You can "like" and comment on others' work
  • Be prepared to share your piece in our next ATLA session

2. Reflect on the questions at the end of the story.
3. Bookmark the Facing History website - think how some of these resources might be used in future lessons with your class(es).

• Given the shift in our role as teachers with the schools being closed, journal about the knowledge and skills and dispositions that resonate with you in your new role. How have your relationships with other teachers and now with parents changed? What dispositions have you used?

Don’t forget your ATLA journal is in a Google Doc in your Drive.

• Share important learnings/resources from the session
• Using the Stages of Organizational Growth tool below, assess the status of your school past and present
• Identify the desired stages of emphasis for next steps and determine how you will get there
